Board Member Duties and Responsibilities:

  • BOARD President · Oversee operations of the association. · Ensure that individual Board members and the Board as a whole fulfil their obligations of duty of care and fiscal responsibility · Serve as chair on board conference calls and ASMAC business meetings · Address and update ASMAC members annually - usually in conjunction with membership renewal in January · Evaluate the Executive Director.
  • President-Elect · Oversee membership development efforts · Deliver the membership report during officer calls and business meetings · Assist with recruitment and retention of members · Select location for ASMAC fall conference for the year of presidency and assist with contract negotiations · Serve as chair for officer calls and business meetings when ASMAC President is unavailable.
  • Immediate Past President · Serve as chair of the Nominating Committee · Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Secretary · Take minutes for ASMAC officer calls and business meetings · Assist with development and maintenance of ASMAC bylaws and policies · Serve as Chair of the program committee · Ensure business registrations are appropriately filed · Assure compliance with continuing education program requirements and maintain eligibility as Illinois CLE Provider.
  • Treasurer · Oversee ASMAC budget and finances · Serve as vice-chair for the Program Committee and assist with program development as needed · Delivers financial reports during officer calls and business meetings · Ensure tax documents are appropriately filed in a timely manner.
